Do you know that working in your strengths brings confidence and if you are working in an area of weakness you lose confidence? I have never thought about that until I read that “the chances of being engaged at work while not working in your strengths is 9 percent but if you focus on your strengths it goes up to 73 percent” (Strength Based Leadership) I believe that if you are working in your strengths and are engaged at work your confidence will grow.
This brings about a really important topic for leaders. If leaders and managers are able to help others focus on their strengths then the productivity, engagement and confidence of the individual, team and company will increase. This will accomplish having happier employees, stock holders, customers and bosses. What have you done in the past 30 days to help your people grow and use their strengths? Are your people engaged and confident? If they are then keep doing what you’re doing. If the answer is no then spend time helping your people know, grow and use their strengths, so that their confidence and engagement will increase.
