Goals Quotes

[I’m going to be mostly offline until January 2nd so I can focus on planning and goal setting for 2013. I’m putting together a personal game plan book for myself with key areas I want to focus on and move toward this next year.]

If you would like to get a copy of my quote book Characteristics and Qualities of a Great Leader then click here. Robert M. Hamilton said, “A book of quotations… can never be complete.” So I wanted to share some quotes on goals which were not included in the book.

Questions: What are your favorite goals quotes? What are some of your 2013 goals?

  • Goals for this year: “Ship” I have to stop “wanting to do something” and actually “do something.” Thanks for the inspiration!

    • Great goal! But are some thing you want to ship?

      • The main one would be an ebook. I have been working on it for a while, but I have to stop planning and start writing.

        • That’s great about writing an eBook. If you need any help let me know.

  • My word for 2013 is “excel.”

    • Great word Dan! Looking forward to watching what you do in 2013.

  • Love the quotes! I can’t think of any off hand, although I believe it is fear that keeps people from setting and striving for great goals. I used to tell myself and people around me when it looked like my dreams and goals had gotten me into hot water, “They can’t eat me and they can’t take my soul.” It seems to put things in a simple perspective, and simple for me is good!

    • Good point about fear, it can prevent a lot. The only fear that is good is the fear of the Lord. Great perspective and mindset Floyd. Thank you for taking the time to read and add to the conversation.

  • The quotes are awesome Dan, and I am using the book to put quotes out there all the time its a great resource. Here are a few of my personal goals for 2013…This does not include spiritual, family goals.

    1. Complete my Emergent Leadership Book and Membership site.
    2. Launch Blogcheck.me, a website I have been working on for Bloggers to know when their sites are down or up.
    3. Partner with 1k more people that want to create passive income in Network Marketing
    4. Speak at 3 events to launch my speaking Career on Emergent Leadership

Can’t wait to see all the great things you have planned for your community Dan.

    • Those are some great plans and goals Lincoln Parks. Here are some of my personal goal (as it relates to online and moving toward my dreams):

      1. Coaching
      2. Start to take speaking engagements
      3. Write at least 1 eBook

*Theses three areas will focus on leadership and how it relates to building a tribe and platform. I plan on starting to offer coaching (still working out the specifics) at the end of next month then focus on speaking (some time in March) then in the middle of the year work on the eBook. This is all a rough draft because I’m still working everything out, hence the less internet time to do so.

Thank you for sharing some of your goals.

      • This is so awesome Dan. I can’t wait to take part in everything that you launch. I know we are in for a treat this year.

        • Thanks man:) Looking forward to moving forward together! Exciting times.

  • I have to like that Michael Jordan one. You have to respect a driven guy like that. I’ve heard many say that he was one of the most driven people that they have ever seen.

    • That’s a great one. He is a great example. Thank you for sharing and commenting.

  • I love the C.S. Lewis quote – no matter where we are in our career or stage of life, there is always an opportunity to dream a new dream. I am working on the 2013 goals this week…have to go back to work on 1/2…so I have a few days!

    • That’s a great one. I’m doing the same thing this week. Looking forward to seeing what you do in 2013!

  • These are all great quotes Dan! My favorite is “One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals.” ~Michael Korda As leaders and individuals that strive for success, our goals are constantly getting bigger and more impactful. Thanks for sharing these – Ryan

    • I’m glad you enjoyed them Ryan. Having and striving toward our goals is so important. Thanks for sharing.

  • Also, i’m diggin the idea of taking a small hiatus to get organized for 2013. I think it’s something everyone should do!

    • I agree, I’m still online a little but really focusing on planning and goal setting for next year.

  • Some inspirational stuff here, Dan. Thanks.

    • I’m glad it inspired you. Thank you for stopping by to read and comment.

  • I really loved these quotes Dan, some of them were new to me.

I also believe that planning without the determination to take action is equal to not getting anything done so I’ll leave you with this Japanese Proverb which is highly related to planning and doing.

“Vision without action is daydream. Action without vision is nightmare.”

    Take care and speak soon!

    • I’m glad you liked them. Great additional quote. Thank you for stopping by.

  • Dave Arnold
