Leadership and Action Quotes

I have already shared some quotes on Leadership, Success, Attitude, Personal Growth, Talents, and Passion, Communication, Vision, and Character. Today I would like to share some quotes on Action:

“Leadership is action, not position.” ~Donald H. Mcgannon

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” ~John C. Maxwell

“Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.” ~Andrew Jackson

“Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.” ~Harold S. Geneen

“Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.” ~Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” ~Leonardo da Vinci

“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” ~Napoleon Hill

“Action conquers fear.”  ~Peter Zarlenga

“The more you are willing to accept responsibility for your actions, the more credibility you will have.” ~Brian Koslow

“I never worry about action, but only about inaction.” ~Winston Churchill

“Everything you want is out there waiting for you to ask. Everything you want also wants you. But you have to take action to get it.” ~Jules Renard

“The possibilities are numerous once we decide to act and not react.” ~George Bernard Shaw

“The path to success is to take massive, determined action.” ~Anthony Robbins

“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” ~Jim Rohn

Question: What are your favorite action quotes?

Please note: I reserve the right to delete comments that are offensive or off-topic.

  • I really like Jim Rohn’s quote above. Motivation can be easy. Habit – that’s what keeps many people from achieving their dreams.

    • It’s a good one. Good habits are so important to have and maintain. Thank you for reading and sharing.

  • Thanks for the quotes, Dan. I love this one as I tend to doubt myself: “Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

    • It’s a great one! Personal courage is so essential when it comes to doing something great for God. I know I need a boost of it every once in a while:) Thank you for sharing.

These are great! The only one that comes to mind is the one I use over and over in my life, “Talk is cheap.” Which infers that action is of great value. Everyone can talk about leading, but the true leaders are putting their words into actions.

    • It’s a great one. Anyone can talk but not everyone puts their words to actions.

  • Love the da Vinci and Emerson quotes!
    Thanks for sharing.
I also like the Shaw quote, even though I detest what the man stood for.

    • Those are good ones, thank you for sharing.

  • Nice bunch of quotes, Dan. Thanks for posting them.

    • Your welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed them.

  • Wow – hard to top that first quote. That one kinda slammed me.

  • Awesome quotes. I like this one from the bible on giving – “give and it shall come back to you…” . Giving is action.

    • Glad you enjoyed them Ngina, that ones a great one.

  • I’m dubbing you the go-to quote guy just so you know. 😀

  • “Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.” this quote just reminds me of the urgency of action. Today should be utilized well in order to harness it’s power.

Thanks for sharing the quotes Dan. Powerful. They are springing me to action.

    • Great quote and words of wisdom. I’m glad you enjoyed them.
