The Importance of Endurance In Leadership

During my High School years I was on the varsity cross country team. We where one of the top teams in a competitive district, winning districts one year and making it to the state finals two times. It takes endurance to run long distance so running in practices and in races we needed to have it. Endurance in running is true with leadership as well. Leader’s need to have endurance to keep leading and be able to handle the challenges of leadership. Leader’s should look at a leadership position as a long distance race not a sprint. It takes time, energy, and endurance to keep leading for the long run. Run your leadership race with endurance.

    Dan,

Excellent! That's the whole thought behind Hebrews 12:1! Although a bit colorful, I'm constantly challenged by Churchill's famous quote: "If you are going through hell, keep on going!" While our challenges in this life do not quite compare to that, this is a great reminder to press on!
