“You can’t stop people from thinking-but you can start them”. ~Frank A. Dusch

“For the Flower to blossom, you need the right soil as well as the right seed. The same is true to cultivate good thinking.” ~William Bernbach

“Good thinkers are always in demand.” ~John Maxwell

“A conclusion is the place where you get tired of thinking.” ~Edward DeBono

“Until thought is linked with purpose there is no intelligent accomplishment.” ~James Allen

“Strategic thinking is like showering, you have to keep doing it.” ~Olan Hendrix

“Big thinkers are specialists in creating positive forward-looking, optimistic pictures in their own minds and in the minds of others.” ~David J. Schwartz

“The problem with popular thinking is that it doesn’t require you to think at all.” ~Kevin Myers

“More gold has been mined from the thoughts of man than has ever been taken from the earth.” ~Napoleon Hill

“Where success is concerned, people are not measured in inches, or pounds, or college degrees, or family back-ground; they are measured by the size of their thinking.” ~David Schwartz

I didn’t really have a favorite or know any quotes on thinking before your post, but I really like this one:
“You can’t stop people from thinking-but you can start them”. ~Frank A. Dusch

Mostly because I like to get people thinking!

Wow, really great quotes. The first 2 are my fav’s!
They remind me of the saying about insanity- “doing the same thing, the same way and expecting different results!”

    • http://danblackonleadership.com/ Dan Black

I like and often use the quote you mentioned. Thanks for reading.

Dan, I have never seen over half of these quotes and they are great. I especially like #10 by David Swartz it speaks to me. Like I told Bernard earlier this week, I am taking theses posts and using them. Thank you.

I love the quote posts too. Here is one of my favorites; “I do not feel obligated to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forego their use.” Galileo Galilei. And one more for good measure! “I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.” John Locke

Great additions. I really like the John Locke quote, it’s so true.

  • http://aparchedsoul.com/ Grayson Pope (A Parched Soul)

Great post Dan. Here’s a quote to add from an upcoming post of mine:

Nothing pains some people more like having to think…I’ve always liked this quote by MLK, esp that latter part.

I this one by my mentor Pastor Johnny, “think what you think.”. Its about being carefull and deliberate about whats on our minds.

    Always love your quotes posts.

    • http://danblackonleadership.com/ Dan Black

Great point about, “being careful and deliberate about whats on our minds.” It’s essential to keep control of our thoughts because they turn into out actions and behaviors. Thanks for sharing.
